I understand that the feeling you’re looking for isn’t the texture of hair in your hands. It’s the pull on the scalp. I used to play with my hair and intentionally knot it so I could then loosen it out, I lost a lot of hair. I also used to pluck obsessively.
You need something in your hands. Something to fidget with, to hold, to feel etc and preferably something that requires repetition. Below are some tools I’ve found help tremendously with these issues.
